Callie is a six month old American Short Hair, a domestic breed brought to North America by early settlers to protect valuable cargo from mice and rats. They are beautiful, healthy, easy going and affectionate. Males average 11-15 lbs while females weigh 6-12 lbs. They are the most popular breed of cat living 15 years or longer. Calico cats are almost always female because of their chromosomes. Male Calico& x27;s are extremely rare. Calico refers to the color pattern, not the breed. They are spotted with patches of orange and black.
