Municipal Building Above The Falls Editorial Photo

This is a Fall picture of the iconic St. Charles Municipal Building looming over the Fox River Falls located in St. Charles, Illinois in Kane County. The municipal building was designed by R. Harold Zoo,, it is an example of Moderne architecture, it was built in 1940. The building was added to the znational Register of Historic Places on February 21, 1991. The waterfall is a result of a dam spanning the Fox River. The dam is eight feet tall and has a width of two hundred eight-five feed wide, the dam was erected in the 1830’s and was used by mills on the river banks.
