Kit Mikayi is a rock formation or tor, around 40 m high, in Seme, Kisumu County, western Kenya, Africa. Kit Mikayi, which means ââ¬Ëstones of the first wifeââ¬â¢ or ââ¬Ëââ¬ËFirst wifeââ¬â¢s rocksââ¬â¢Ã¢â¬â¢, in Dholuo, the local language, is both a spiritual place for the local Luo people and a tourist attraction. Locals living around the stones are known as the Luo-Kakello clan. The site is associated with sacrifices & legends from pre-Christian times. Kit-Mikayi is a regional point of sightseeing interest, especially among the neighbouring Luo tribes. It also has become a popular local pilgrimage site for followers of the Legio Maria sect who come to the rock to pray and fast for several weeks at a time.
