View down a long tunnel inside historic Ft Pickens on Santa Rosa Island in the Gulf of Mexico across from Pensacola, Florida. Far down the arched tunnel, a small group of tourists looks over the railing at the fort`s cistern. The brick walls and floor of the fort, old, weathered, encrusted with mineral deposits, show evidence of water seepage. The floor in the next chamber of the passageway is marked by the semicircular gun rail.
