This red colored flower is velvety in texture, known locally as ‘Vajradanti’. Its English name is ‘Himalayan Cinquefoil’ and its botanical name is ‘Potentilla Atrisanguinea’. It is a common flower found in the Valley of Flowers and blooms between mid June and end August. The Valley of Flowers National Park is one of the most beautiful high-altitude valleys in Garhwal Himalayas and forms part of the greater Nanda Devi Biosphere Reserve, with hundreds of different species of flowers.
