Pictured is a niche containing a statue of Saint Fortunato on the left of the entrance to the Duomo Cathedral, Lecce, Italy. The Cathedral is dedicated to the assumption of Saint Mary. It was first built in 1114, refurbished in 1230 and decorated in the Baroque style by Giuseppe Zimbolo in 1670. Saint Fortunato was a martyr, killed in the persecutions of Diocletian.
