Description
Pictured is a closeup view of the base of the Fontana dellââ¬â¢Armonia or Fountain of Harmony. The fountain is somewhat tucked away on Via Guglielmo Marconi, in front of the wall which surrounds the Castle of Charles V. The bronze and stone fountain is an allegory of love and youth, showing two lovers standing on organ pipes, sculpted by Antonio Mazzotta. The city of Lecce held an open competition which Mazzotta won and the fountain was inaugurated on 28th October, 1927.
