Biking at the Waerachtig Gate in the city Maastricht #103051683
Description
The Netherlands, Province Limburg, City of Maastricht, provincial capital: The Gate Waerachtig, a historic building in the district Jekerkwartier. This gate was built at the end of the nineteenth century, 1888, as a breakthrough in the New town walled. It is therefore not an original city gate in the surrounding city walls. On the outside of the gate is a city angel with the Maastricht city weapon and the right a verse of Victor de Stuers. In this verse the word comes viciously, and the building derives its name from it. This pointed gate is a landmark, cultural heritage and tourist attraction. A woman and a man cycle in the opposite direction through an entrance gate.
