Description
This is a Fall picture of the ruins of the Temple of Poseidon perched on the headland, surrounded on three sides by the sea located at the southernmost tip of the Attica Peninsula at Cape Sounion, Greece. This marble temple to the god of the sea is a typical hexastyle temple, 15 of the original 34 Doric Order Columns still stand, the Temple was constructed 444 BC-440 BC, this temple was destroyed in 399 by the army of Emperor Arcadius.
