Miner's Cabin, the 'Pygmy Cabin', Holcomb Valley, Big Bear, CA #104621259
Description

This is the Pygmy Cabin located in the Holcomb Valley, San Bernardino Mountains, California. It is called pygmy because of its extremely small size. The doorway itself is barely 5' tall. Common rumor is the miner who built it was in a hurry from an approaching storm. I have heard it was even used as a barber shop as late as the 1930`s. You can find this cabin by driving up the dirt roads north of Big Bear Lake to the Gold Fever Trail. The surrounding area is a historic Gold rush site. This is a popular area for 4WD or off-roading vehicles. R=The cabin is shown on a sunny day, it is surruond by sage brush meadow and conifer forest.
