Description
Alaskan Malamute Alaskan Malamute, also known as the Alaskan Dog, is one of the oldest polar sled dogs named after a tribe called the Mammut, from the Eskimos Inuites. This tribe lives on the shore of Kotzebue, in western Alaska. Before Alaska became part of the United States territories, the area called Alashak or Alyeska translates into `vast expanse of land`, the name given to the Russians who discovered the area. Unlike other breeds in Alaska, this breed is strong, muscular and nurturing it for endurance rather than speed as its main purpose is sledding. Adult Alaskan dogs have a quiet, elegant temperament, very loyal to the owner.
