Description
Fort Cornwallis is built by Sir Francis Light when he founded Penang, Malaysia in 1786. The fort is built to protect the trade of British Empire, where Penang became one of the most important colonial island for trade of spices, rubber, tin, and gold in Malaysia. In later years, immigrant from India and China is brought to Penang to work on rubber plantation and tin mining industry.
