Macro spider Salticidae #106843463
Description
They are diurnal spiders, rather small. The legs are usually short and strong, the anterior sometimes bulging. The eyes are adapted to the hunt and are eight in number. Four eyes, sometimes mobile, are located at the front of the cephalothorax: two anterior median eyes and two anterior lateral ones. The anterior median eyes are very mobile, the spider can follow a prey. These eyes of great visual acuity can see a movement at 2 meters [ref. necessary] at least or a sexual partner, give a precise binocular vision to jump with precision for example, as well as a vision of the colors. The anterior lateral eyes are smaller, immobile, with a much weaker separating power. They allow binocular vision forward and monocular on the sides. Four other eyes are located towards the rear: the posterior median eyes are very small, perhaps vestigial. The posterior lateral eyes, about the same size as the anterior lateral ones, allow a very wide vision on the sides, and the back, with a small rear binocular vision. The Salticidae therefore have a 360 ð field of view.
