This is a Winter picture of the historic Clarence adarrow Memorial Bridge over a frozen South Pond at Jackson spark located in Chicago, Illinois in Cook Coumty. This bridge replaced the temporary Columbian Bridge constructed for use during the 1893 Workd Columbian Exposition. The current bridge is an example of a fixed Metal Deck Girder Bridge, it was built in 1895, it was originally known as the North Pond Bridge, it was renamed the Clarence Darrow a Memorial Bridge in 1957. The bridge is currentnY closed as there is an effort to save it from demolition. This picture was taken on January 1, 2018.
