Pioneering television journalist Barbara Walters then at 70, arrives for the Actors` Fund and Christopher Reeve Foundation benefit in mid-town Manhattan on June 12, 2000. Walters was a ground-breaking television personality, whose tv career spanned over 5 decades, into her mid-80s. In her final chapter, in 1997 she became the co-creator and co-producer of the long-running Emmy-winning popular and controversial daily talk show on the ABC-TV Network, 'The View,' which features an all-female panel. Walters died on December 30, 2022, at her Manhattan home, at the age of 93.
