This is a Winter picture of the iconic Theater on the Lake located on the Lake Michigan lakefront in Chicago, Illinois in Cook County. The structure was designed in 1913, it is an example of Prairie School architecture, it was constructed in 1920 to serve as a sanitarium for children with tuberculosis. During World War II it was converted into a recreational center for the USO. In 1953 it was converted into a theater and restaurant. This picture was taken on January 4, 2018.
