The mountain range is located on the west coast of South Island, running almost parallel to the Tasman Sea. The twin glaciers of Franz Josef and Fox are located to the southwest of the mountain range. This photo was shot from a helicopter giving a panoramic view of the snow covered peaks and close to the origin of Fox Glacier, which can be seen on the far left of the picture.
