Description
Yellow arched gallery and Pink Towers from Pena National Palace, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, from main gate road. The portuguese fortress stands on a top of a hill above Sintra medieval town and was used as summer residence for portuguese monarchy for more than 4 centuries. It was rebuilt over the years becoming a blend of architectural styles such as Neo-Gothic, Neo-Manueline and Moorish. However, in the 19th century, became one of the major expressions of Romantic Architecture in the world.
