Description
Syringa lilac is a genus of 12 currently recognized species of flowering woody plants in the olive family Oleaceae, native to woodland and scrub from southeastern Europe to eastern Asia, and widely and commonly cultivated in temperate areas elsewhere. Due to their beautiful flowers Lilacs are popular shrubs in parks and gardens. Common lilac Syringa vulgaris L. is a widespread luxurious shrub, extremely hardy, which grows well outdoors in the South and in the North of Europe and decorates spring gardens with its large inflorescences of fragrant flowers.
