Golden Gate Park`s Sharon Building, 1. #108287105
Description
The very graceful Sharon building in San Francisco's Golden Gate Park, immediately adjacent to the playground and carousel, was a donation of William Sharon to give families a place to go when the weather suddenly turned inhospitable. Although the building did survive the earthquake and fire of 1906 and fire in 1974,it did sustain considerable damage both times needing to be completely renovated each time. Since 1968 it has housed the Sharon Art Studio,San Francisco largest public art center.
