The Arch of Titus is an Arc de Triomphe, with a single arch, placed on the slopes of the Palatine, in the western part of the Roman Forum. A masterpiece of Roman art, a beautiful example of architectural proportion and nobility. The Arch of Titus was built after the death of Emperor Titus, after the destruction of Jerusalem, commemorating the victories of Titus against the Jews. An inscription in the attic can be seen a dedication of the senate to the Emperor Titus, mentioned as Divus the senate and the people of Rome to the divine Titus, son of the divine Vespasian, Vespasianus Augustus.
