Amazing Tower of Babel Marta Minujin 2011 Buenos Aires ArgentinannTorre de Babel is an 82 meter 25 meter spiral tower-shaped installation created by the Argentine artist Marta Minujin. It was developed with 30 thousand books in dozens of languages, donated by readers, libraries and embassies from more than 50 countries. Climbing its seven floors of metal scaffolding, visitors will hear music composed by Minujin and his voice repeating the word `book` in dozens of languages.nnnOn the walls, children`s books from Japan are packed together with adventure stories from Patagonia or a translation of the Argentine epic from the gaucho poem Martín Fierro. This installation was carried out within the framework of the denomination of Buenos Aires as the World Book Capital 2011 by the United Nations Organization, Science and Culture Culture UNESCO. When the exhibition ends, the books are given to the lovers of literature.
