Sunrise over Mount Shukson #109231534
Description
One Friday evening in September 2017, I drove up to Mt Baker on my own, slept in my car overnight, and hiked a few miles the next morning to catch this sunrise. This was something I wanted to do for 6 months, but hadn`t been able to because of a serious brain injury I got skiing in the Spring. Although I needed a handful of Tylenol to suppress my migraines, getting to this viewpoint was the most stoked I had been in a very long time. It might sound dramatic, but I even started tearing up when I reached the top, emotions built up from being stuck in bed for most of the summer. Although cliche to say, this photo reminds me that every morning is the start of a new day, and that no matter how tough things can get, everyday has the potential of being better than the next.
