Another type of hairstylists shears are thinning scissors which sometimes are called as texturizing or chunking shears, but they are not the same, because texturizing shears are mainly meant for hair styling, not for hair thinning. The base of thinning scissors is similar to regular hair cutting shears – they have loops for index finger and thumb. However, their blades varies greatly – the top blade contains teeth which remove only some hair with each cut, thinning them without changing the haircut. It should be mentioned, that hair thinning scissors are used only for those hair sections which tend to get thick compared to the rest of the head, for example, the back of the head.
