Description
Antirrhinum is a genus of annual plants commonly known as dragon flowers or snapdragons because of the flowers` fancied resemblance to the face of a dragon that opens and closes its mouth when laterally squeezed. A. majus the garden snapdragon is the only species naturalized in North America. These flowers, which form in whorls atop a thin stalk, can be seen in beautiful hues of burgundy, pink and red, as well as orange, white, yellow and a unique shade of bronze. Snapdragons are often classified according to height and flower form. For height, there are three types ââ¬â dwarf, medium and tall.
