Religious icon of the Virgin Mary. This icon began dripping oil in 1994 while in the home of a woman in Brooklyn. The news media including channel 11, 7 and 4, documented the appearance of what appeared to be oil and stated the icon dripped as much as 2 gallons of oil within a 24 hour period. The icon was then moved to a nearby Church where it continued to drip for sometime before stopping. It is said it began dripping briefly in 2004 but has since stopped. It is presently housed inside the Coptic Orthodox Church of St George in Brooklyn NY. The small paper taped to the lower left of the glass shows staining made by the oil during the dripping period when it happened. Photographed September 2009 in the USA.
