Wat Pra Si Sanphet, Ayutthaya Historical Park, Thailand #110800498
Description
Wat Pra Si Sanphet, Ayutthaya Historical Park, Thailand This temple was built in 1351 after King Ramathibodi ordered its construction of the royal palace. The whole city of Ayutthaya was destroyed in the Burmese invasion of 1767 but many of the crumbling and beautiful temple ruins are still standing today. While walking around the grounds, I came upon a monk and a family praying on the ground. Once they finished, I climbed one of the tall stupas to get an overview of the scene. I was able to photograph this monk with the temple set behind him.
