Netherlands, province South Holland, city Gouda: The historic building, the Waag. A city scales house that was built to a design by the architect Pieter Post on the Market, in Holland-classical architectural style in the late 17th century. In this weighing house is now the Gouda Cheese Museum. On the frontage of this historic building, is a white marble relief with men who weigh cheese, colorful city coats of arms and family shields of the mayors Floris Cant, Gerard Star, Donatus of Groendijck and Jacob Bonser. This building is a landmark, cultural heritage site, national monument and tourist attraction.
