Pictured is `Deep Rawlins` by Steve Hunter, part of the 42 murals project in Deep Ellum Texas. It is a portrait of local poet Rawlins Gilliland. Steve Hunter is now a Dallas fine artist, and in partnership with his jewelry artist wife they own Hunter Creates. 42 Murals provides an opportunity for local, national, and international artists to showcase their talent through murals painted on many of the historic buildings in Deep Ellum. It was the brainchild of Scott Rohrman, the owner of 42 Real Estate, which since 2012 has bought 39 properties in Deep Ellum. Deep Ellum has a long history as a cultural epicenter for the arts, especially encouraging innovative expression and development in music and visual arts.
