Description
The most-mentioned flying lizard in the history of paleontology. In doing so, it has the title of the first named and described pterosaur. The Latin name Pterodactylus comes from a pair of ancient Greek words - a winged finger. At the heart is the amazing structure of the body of pterosaurs: the fourth finger of the forelimbs was strongly elongated and served as a fastener for the leathery wing.
