Description
This is an early Spring picture of the Edward R. Hills House located in Oak Park, Illinois in Cook County. Originally a three-story house designed by Charles C. Miller, it was an example of the Stick Style of architecture true, it was originally built in 1874. In 1900 Frank Lloyd Wright was commissioned by this homes new owner to completely remodel this home. In 1906 the house was moved on its foundation and Wrigjt completely remodeled this home that became an example of Prairie Style architecture. This house is a contributing property to the Frank Lloyd Wright Prairie School Of Architecture Historic District which was added to the National Register of Historic Places on December 4, 1973.
