The remains of Black Point San Francisco, 4. #112633275
Description
Much of current San Francisco is built up on land fill, because the bay came much further in during the Gold Rush period. An area then known as Black Point during the gold rush area is one such section. Since salt water swimming was popular at the time, the area was also lined with cabins to accommodate the swimmers. With the opening of Sutro Baths and changing tastes, Black Point became all but forgotten.
