Description
Window with sculped Triton over an arched tunnel and glazed tiles facade from Pena National Palace. This portuguese fortress, an UNESCO World Heritage Site, stands above Sintra medieval town and was used as summer residence for portuguese monarchy for more than 4 centuries. It was rebuilt over the years becoming a blend of architectural styles such as Neo-Gothic, Neo-Manueline and Moorish. However, in the 19th century, became one of the major expressions of Romantic Architecture in the world.
