According to legend, Pasquale Pete Gogna was born in the Northern Italy in 1892. He came to San Francisco sometime in the 1930`s, to work in the produce or restaurant type of trade. He also lived for a time in the Northern California town of Stockton. Along the way, Pete and his brother had a few restaurants and hotels, and Pete acquired this building on Kearny Street. This type of blue dome was very popular in the Northern Italian region of Genoa, so Pasquale probably was familiar with the style, adding it for a touch on home.
