Description
Bombus are a genus of social insects belonging to the family of bees Apidae. There are approximately 250 species of bumblebees worldwide that occur naturally in Europe, North Africa, Asia, North America and South America. Several European species of bumble bees have been introduced by humans in New Zealand and Tasmania. In Belgium and the Netherlands there are about thirty different species, some of which are rare.
