Perennial herbs with a height of 20 to 60cm. Stems quadrate, many branched, all in pubescence. Leaves opposite, oval, 1 ~ 5cm long, 5 ~ 25cm wide, apex or obtuse, base cuneate, margin serrate. Flower densely integrated cymose, axillary or apex; bracts leaflike, linear; calyx tube shaped, outer coat; corolla light red or purple, base tube shaped, 2 cleft of the upper lip, semicircle, 3 cleft of lower lip; stamen 4; style in ovary bottom, out of corolla outside, 2 fissure. Small nuts, brown and yellow. The flowering period is 7~8 months. The fruit period is 9~10 months.
