This is an early Spring picture of a piece of public art titled: Metalmatic, on display at the Skokie Northshore Sculpture Park located in Skokie, Illinois in Cook County. This piece was created by Kari Reardon. This large, organic form was made from a huge industrial coil of steel. The coil was suspended downward and, as it moved and dropped, it was adjusted to the position desired and then welded together. The goal was to take a hard manmade material and transform it into a soft billowing form that has a feeling of growth and movement. This picture was taken on April 7, 2018.
