Andean Condor is a large vulture with a shiny black plumage, a collar of white feathers around the neck. On the head and the greater part of the neck the feathers are virtually absent, and the areas of bare skin in this place usually have shades from pale pink to red-brown. Male condors are distinguished by the presence of `earrings` on the neck and a large dark red crest, or fleshy growths on the wax.
