Description
The bright church with a single dome and a bell tower at the beginning of the Maroseyka street is called The Church of St Nicholas the Miracle-Worker. It was built of stone in the 17th century. The small Church seems to be clamped between two bulky buildings, but it is not lost on their background, brightly standing out with its red festive facade with white decorative details in the Naryshkin Baroque style. In the early twentieth century, this temple and its Abbot Alexei Mechev 1859 - 1923 was known all around the Moscow land. He was a really famous priest, good shepherd, whose sermons were sincere and simple. In 2000 Abbot Alexei Mechev and his son Abbot Sergei Mechev were glorified in the face of the saints of the Russian Orthodox Church. Architectural monument, a cultural heritage site.
