H.C. ANDERSEN HANS CHRISTIAN ANDERSEN; 2 April 1805 ââ¬â 4 August 1875 was the best remembered Danish author for his fairy-tales which have been translated into more than 125 languages. Some of Andersenââ¬â¢s most famous fairy tales include ââ¬ÅThe Little Mermaidââ¬Â, ââ¬ÅThe Snow Queenââ¬Â, ââ¬ÅThe Ugly Ducklingââ¬Â, ââ¬ÅThe Nightingaleââ¬Â, ââ¬ÅThe Emperorââ¬â¢s New Clothesââ¬Â and many more. His stories have inspired plays, ballets, and both live-action and animated films.
