This is a Spring picture of the historic Jefferson Street Viaduct Over The Des Moines River located in Ottumwa, Iowa in Wapello County. The bridge was designed by the architects and engineers of the Iowa State Highway Commission, it is an example of a Rivited Warren Deck Truss Bridge, it was constructed to carry vehicles across the river 1935-1936. The bridge was added to the National Register of Historic Places on May 15, 1998. This picture was taken on April 28, 2018.
