Description
Lythrum salicaria L. kirkelike and perennial herbs of genus kuricatorius, rhizomes lying in the underground, stout; stem erect, many branched, green green, slightly hairy or densely fluffed, usually with 4 edges. Leaves opposite or whorled, lanceolate or broadly lanceolate, apex obtuse or short pointed, base rounded or heart-shaped, sometimes slightly clasping stem, entire, sessile. Flowers are composed of small cymes and clusters of peduncles and short stems, so the branches resembling a large spikes; bracts with broad lanceolate to triangular ovate, triangular; erect, erect, red purple or lilac, with needle shaped long oval, cuneate base, on the upper part of the calyx tube, short clawed, and slightly crumple. Outside of calyx tube; ovary 2, style different in length. The capsule is flat and round.
