Description
The Roland Statue in Bremen was built in 1404, and is considered the most beautiful according to UNESCO experts. In 2004, the Roland Statue was named a UNESCO World Heritage Site along with the old Town Hall not pictured. The Roland Statue is found in the Marktplatz, which is considered the heart of Bremen. The buildings behind Roland have been rebuilt after being destroyed in WWII. On the far left, there is a Sparkasse which has been built in a Rococo style of architecture, and next to that is the Rats Apothecary, which was built in the style of Neo-Renaissance.
