Title
Shock absorbers for bridges from earthquakes, this sample for the Golden Gate Bridge. #116757256
Description
Just like our shoes and cars, bridge technology has greatly advanced over the centuries. Just as we now have new ways to build our shoes and cars to absorb vibrations so we do not have to when we use them, we also now realize bridges and other big structures need similar shock absorbers, allowing the structures to gently sway with the motions of earthquakes, in stead of staying ridged, which ultimately leads to cracking and bending. This is an example of an earthquack shock absorbing, seismic isolator.
