San Francisco`s first Zen center was established in 1934. Through the decades there had been much growth and change. One of the additions to the Zen Center came in 1987 with the addition of the Hospice project, right near the current Zen Center. The hospice is nonsectarian, and irregardless end-of-life condition. They also work in close cooperation with Laguna Honda Hospital, San Francisco`s skilled nursing care facility.
