Doggie Diner heads are a San Francisco landmark, 2. #118303078
Description
Doggie Diner was a small hot dog restaurant chain, founded in Oakland California in 1948. It grew, mainly just throughout the San Francisco Bay area, and added hamburger. But as the bigger hamburger fast food chains grew, Doggie Diner could no longer compete, and they finally closed complete in 1986. The fiberglass heads having been given San Francisco Landmark status, are being collected and restored, like this one near the San Francisco Zoo on Sloat Boulevard.
