Title
A former houseboat at San Francisco`s Hyde Street Pier, 12. #118382259
Description
Known locally as the Lewis Ark, this houseboat was built sometime between 1890-1900, and was typical of houseboats in use for summer vacation living in at the time. Barge like, this boat has a rounded bottom. After going through several ownerships, this one was finally donated to the park in 1969. Customarily a shipboard restroom is referred to as the `head`. Since this one was added decades after being brought ashore, is it now a `bathroom`?
