Description
This is a Summer picture of one of the seventeen bridges crossing a small stream in McCourtie Park located in Somerset, Michigan in Wayne County. The park was the estate of W.H.L. McCourtie, in 1930 he hired two artist George Cardozo and Ralph Corona to create seventeen whimsical ââ¬Åwooden Bridgeââ¬Â out of cement using a wet cement carving technique that created wood looking sculptures. The 17 bridges were created between 1930-1933. The sculpture park was added to the National Register of Historic Places on January 24, 1992. This picture was taken on June 6, 2018.
