Image shows a close up view of a nest of the Killdeer, along the shore of Pueblo Lake Colorado. Nest has three eggs, and they match some of the rock and gravel in the area, with the white and black speckling on their shells. Nests are made in taller grass, and they have collect pieces of driftwood to layer bottom of the nest. The killdeer is a medium-sized plover. It is a noisy bird, whose English name comes from its distinctive kill deer cry. The adult has a brown back and wings, a white belly, and a white breast with two black bands. The rump is tawny orange
