The doorway and lintel of the Viking Church at Hvalsey in Greenland #119462110
Description
It is thought that this famous Viking Church was constructed with the help of experienced Viking builders from settlements in the Scottish Islands. Sadly, the Viking colony in Greenland died out in the 15th century. It is thought some Vikings were murdered and some captured and enslaved by pirates. A Viking Wedding was held here in 1408.
